If you died tonight, would you go to Heaven? Are you sure? God says, “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,” (Heb 9:27) Everyone will die and then meet God for judgment and either spend eternity in Heaven or Hell. For God says, “All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left, "Then He will also say to those on His left, `Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels,’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matt 25:32-33, 41, 46)
Every one of us sin and have broken God’s commandments, for God says, “For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law;” (Ro 2:12) and “all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God” (Ro 3:23) There is nothing you can do to save yourself. You cannot be good enough, for as it is written, “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE.” (Ro 3:10)
You cannot be saved by keeping the law or being good enough because “nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus), even we have believed in the Messiah, so that we may be justified by faith in Messiah and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.” (Gal 2:16) So now we know that the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Messiah our Lord. (Ro 6:23).
The GOOD NEWS is that even though we sin, God made a way for us to go to Heaven “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) For thus it is written, that the Messiah would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations.” (Luke 24:46-47) Through Jesus we can have forgiveness of sins, a new life, and the hope of a resurrection and eternity in Heaven. Praise God!
How can we be saved and gain eternal life? In Jesus, God in the flesh! God tells us we must repent and turn to God and faith in our Lord Jesus the Messiah. (Acts 20:21)
First, we repent by confessing and then by turning from sin. God says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9), and “the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (I John 1:7) We place our faith in Messiah by receiving Him by faith, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12) Repentance and faith in Messiah is spiritual rebirth, for Jesus says, “Truly , truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven.” (John 3:3)
What will happen when you repent and believe? God will forgive your sins, as He said, "I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins." (Isaiah 43:25) and He also says, "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, " Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18)
If you are ready to repent and believe in Jesus for salvation, here is a suggested prayer.
“Dear Almighty God, I know You are the only God and that Jesus is Your Son sent from Heaven to die and be raised up again for us. I know that I am a sinner and deserve Hell. Please, forgive me of all my sins. I surrender control of my life to you. Show me what I must do next. Thank you for hearing my prayer, In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”
Now if you have repented and believe in Jesus, you are saved and have been given His Holy Spirit who will always be with you, as God says, "Even from eternity I am He, And there is none who can deliver out of My hand; I act and who can reverse it?" (Isaiah 43:13) "Jesus will comfort you and help you now in your life. Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, In His arm He will gather the lambs And carry them in His bosom." (Isaiah 40:11)
